What do you understand by digital marketing?

Digital marketing is the process of promoting a brand, product or service using digital channels such as search engines, social media, email, and mobile apps. It incorporates elements from all areas of online marketing including content creation, SEO, online advertising (paid search), and website design & optimization. The aim is to reach potential customers through multiple digital touch-points and drive them to convert into leads and/or customers.

What have you found to be the most effective way to drive traffic to a website?

The most effective way to drive traffic to a website is through a mix of organic (SEO) and paid search methods. This typically involves optimizing the website for relevant keywords in order to rank on the first page of results in search engines, as well as running targeted pay-per-click advertising campaigns to appear for specific queries. Additionally, integrating content creation, outreach initiatives, influencer marketing, and remarketing can also be effective in driving high-quality website visitors.

How do you track customer engagement and conversions?

Tracking customer engagement and conversions requires measuring key metrics like website visits, clicks, leads, sales, or subscriptions. Oftentimes these metrics are tracked using a combination of analytics tools such as Google Analytics or Adobe Omniture to measure website activity and customer interaction. Additionally, ecommerce stores may also use sales tracking software or other specific metrics tools to measure overall performance of their digital marketing campaigns.

How would you set up an email marketing campaign?

Setting up an email marketing campaign begins with understanding your target audience’s needs and interests. Once you have identified these, you can create an email list using various sources such as sign up forms, product or service subscribers, or existing customers. After building your list, designing the email template is next - including content such as subject line and graphics - to ensure the message is branded and eye-catching. Following this, you should monitor data related to the campaign such as open rates and clicks to evaluate success and make adjustments as needed.

Describe successful A/B testing that you have implemented in the past.

In my previous role, I implemented A/B testing to optimize the effectiveness of email campaigns. For one campaign, I used two different subject lines and tested them on two separate groups. By tracking the open rate and click-through rate of each group, I was able to determine which subject line resonated more with our target audience. Ultimately, we found that the second version of the subject line saw a 7% higher open rate and 13% higher click-through rate compared to the first version.
